Volunteers
Volunteers make a very valuable contribution to the running of the gallery. At the same time, there are many benefits to volunteering, including making new friends and acquiring new skills.
The gallery is a focus for lots of activity and excitement, and volunteering provides a way to become involved while promoting exhibitions and public programs in the community.
The identified positions are:
- Front of house ambassadors
- Behind the scenes assistants to the curator
- Office administration assistants
- Visitor guides
- School group guides
- Function attendants
The gallery is run on professional lines, operating to meet standards set across the State. Volunteers need to make a commitment to be involved twice per month, undergo training and agree to a 12-month term of engagement.
